MICROBLADING/MICROSHADING

IS MICROBLADING PERMANENT?

Microblading, unlike tattooing, is not in the deep layer of skin, but more on the surface. This is considered semi-permanent, and the color usually starts fading  within 18 months depending on your type of skin and lifestyle.

TEETH WHITENING

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR WHITENING?

Tooth whitening is safe for most people and the best candidates are those who only have mild to moderate discoloration. But there are certain types of discoloration that cannot be corrected by whitening treatments, and there are certain dental or medical conditions that may reduce the chances tooth whitening will work for you. These include:

  • Porcelain veneers, dental crowns, caps, fillings, or dental bonding on the front teeth. These synthetic materials do not respond well to bleaching products. You may need new crowns or veneers if you want these teeth to appear whiter.
  • Yellow teeth usually bleach well, however brown teeth may not whiten as much. Teeth with gray tones, white spots, or discoloration from a "dead" tooth may not bleach at all.
  • Some conditions may become worse if teeth are bleached. These include: sensitive teeth or teeth with worn enamel, and patients with bruxism or temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ/TMD). In-office whitening procedures may be able to be performed in some cases with these conditions. Consult your dentist.
  • Tooth whitening is not effective if tooth discoloration is caused by medications or a tooth injury.

WHAT RISK IS ASSOCIATED WITH WHITENING?

The two side effects that occur most often with teeth whitening are a temporary increase in tooth sensitivity and mild irritation of the soft tissues of the mouth, particularly the gums. Tooth sensitivity often occurs during early stages of the bleaching treatment. Tissue irritation most commonly results from an ill-fitting mouthpiece tray rather than the tooth-bleaching agent. Both of these conditions usually are temporary and disappear within 1 to 3 days of completing treatment.

Aftercare

  • Avoid any stainable foods/liquids (red sauces, red wine, tea, coffee, etc...) for at least the first 2 days due to teeth being more susceptible to within this timeframe.
  • Highly recommended that you, in conjunction with using over the counter maintenance products, continue regular visits to my Dentist for optimal results.

Tooth Gems

WILL THE TOOTH GEMS DAMAGE MY TEETH?

No. The Tooth Gems is bonded to the surface of the enamel like an orthodontic bracket. No drilling or permanent change.

HOW LONG WILL THE TOOTH GEM STAY ON THE TOOTH?

Tooth Gems will stay on the tooth anywhere from one months up to a few years. They will leave no mark on the tooth. Let it stay on as long as you like then just ask your dentist to polish it off.

CAN YOU HAVE YOUR TEETH CLEANED BY A DENTIST/HYGIENIST?

Yes. A dentist or hygienist should easily be able to safely clean the tooth around the Tooth Gems.

HOW DO I REMOVE A TOOTH GEM

Removal should be performed by a dental professional. Tooth Gem is polished off and will leave no visible mark on the tooth.

CAN I ATTACH A TOOTH GEM TO A CHILDS TOOTH?

Yes. There is no more risk applying a Tooth Gems to a child’s tooth than an adult’s. Dentists have been using the same bonding system to fit braces to children’s teeth for many years with no adverse effect. Parent or guardian will need to sign contract form giving their permission for a Tooth Gems application to anyone under the age of 16.

CONSULTATIONS: Consultation is performed prior to the actual session, once the measurements and sketch has been approved and agreed upon from both technician and client, the session will begin. Any changes with the shape/color can be adjusted at touch up, and if somehow you decided you weren’t a good candidate for permanent makeup, you can refuse the touch up and wait for the tattoo to fade over time, this technique is still considered as “semi-permanent”. This technique gently scratches the surface of the skin in which the pigment is not implanted deep enough to have the longevity of a traditional tattoo. Eventually the tattoo will fade over time.
